My shoes: always my Crocs Santa Cruz

August 27, 2010

(Today’s blog entry is from one of our talented Web Production Designers, Kevin Ingram.)

This past January, A group of friends and I had an opportunity to travel to beautiful Belize and help build a new library in the small village aptly named “Valley of Peace”.  After working all day, I couldn’t wait to take off my muddy work boots at night. I always knew I had a comfortable pair of shoes waiting after I cleaned up, my Crocs Men’s Santa Cruz.

When you take off work boots that weigh 5 times heavier than the bricks you just laid for a concrete foundation, slipping into the Santa Cruz is just a little piece of heaven. They’re so lightweight they feel therapeutic when you’re just walking around.

And yes, as a typical guy myself, I know a lot of guys out there could care less about style. That’s the last thing on the mind when you’re in a wet hot jungle in Belize. But the Crocs Santa Cruz looks good with everything! I celebrated New Year’s Eve in Belize and I didn’t even think about a New Year’s Party. I just threw on my cargo pants and T-shirt (since they were the only clean clothes I had left) and jumped into my Santa Cruz and brought in the New Year.

By the way, did I mention the Santa Cruz are awesome for airports? Easy to slip on and off as you’re going through security.

My little story doesn’t end well. My friends and I were invited to fish off the coast the last night we were there. It was late at night, pretty windy but relaxing. I take off my prized Santa Cruz and place them on the dock to wade in the water. Oh, and we’re fishing… for sharks! Of course, they tell me this when I’m in the water already.

Jumping expeditiously back on the dock, I notice that my pair of super lightweight Santa Cruz have blown off into the water and are floating away. I jump back into the water to grab one shoe but his comrade was too far out in the shark waters heading for Cuba. It was certainly a certifiable ‘moment of silence’. It’s a good thing I can always get another pair. This unfortunate event forced me to wear my old muddy work boots on the flight back home the next day. Uncomfortable to say the least.

And if you’re a guy reading this and thinking “c’mon. They’re just shoes!” Well, you haven’t worn a pair of Crocs Santa Cruz.

Thanks Crocs,

Kevin Ingram

Croc dudes – please add some more size 14 shoes. I just received a promotional email about the new mesa shoe and it looks great- except that it (and most of your lines) – doesn’t go to size 14. My big feet need more crocs!

    Tks.

I just love the Tulley’s that have the extra cushioning inside. Are there any other styles that also have the padding inside?

      Dear Dawn,
Thank you for your comments and questions. At this time we have one other style that contains this colorful patterned insert. This style is called the Francis. Otherwise, all of our Crocs shoes are equipped with ample padding inside as the Croslite material our shoes are meant to cushion the foot and provide comfort while doing daily activities. Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding the cushioning in any of the styles we currently carry. Thank you again for your inquiry and have a wonderful day!

I own several pairs of crocs…i really do like them but often times they are too sloppy on me. I wish they were a little more narrow for women specifically! The unisex idea doesn’t often work …length yes…good fit …not so much. thanks!

      Dear Linda,
Thank you for your comments. At this time, if you do order any women specific shoe style from http://www.Crocs.com , they will be a narrower width (about a B width) than our unisex styles (for both men and women) or our men’s only styles. If you have specific question regarding a certain style, please let me know as I would be more than happy to further assist you. Thank you again for your question and have a wonderful day!

Ditto on Eric’s comment. The Man in my life is a 15 EEE and he lives in big beachs. We have every color and reorder all the time and thankfully found the camo in his size at Mack’s Prarie Wings just in time for hunting season. It would be so great to find the golf shoes especially and more styles. Big guys who are healthy and active have so few options and crocks are such a great help and healthy friend to people who carry a lot in the first place. You can only travel well and be active if you have a good footing and crocs are so that. So help us out we would love to do more business with you!
    Thanks,
    S

Thank God for CROCS!!!

  8. Those Santa Cruz are amazing. They are so lightweight that when I travel I can take a bunch with me. (I have them in most colors and also suede and cordory) They fold virtualy flat and take no room in your luggage. The suede one look very dressy so you don’t have to take heavy dress shoes with you. I just wish the suede one came in Black/Black. They only have dark brown which looks great but I wear more black. No one can believe that they are Crocs and are always amazed when I tell people. I give them the web-site info and they always seem pleased to find all the great new styles. People think of Crocs and only see one style in their mind. I just keep on getting the Santa Cruz ’cause they are the softest lightest shoes I have ever worn. Waiting for the black suede!

    Hello…
I sent an email few weeks ago about those rainboots. You guys need to make some for agriculture workers. These dairy farm workers pay a fortune every year for boots that don’t last longer than 4 months.

I’m going to be buying them online for the workers. THERE IS A BIG BIG BOOT DILEMMA IN THE DAIRY INDUSTRY!!!!!!!!!

I was in contact with LACROSSE and so far I don’t know if they’d made anything better yet.

    Hear our cries!!!!!!!!
