Winter Crocs Time!

December 6, 2011

Are you like me….going straight from flip flops directly to boots in the cooler weather? I really don’t have any in-between shoes. Until now! I hit the Crocs Outlet in Aurora, Illinois and found some new pals for my feet.

Good bye, Prepair II...can't wear socks with you...

Hello poor-pedicure hiding Candace Clog!

Start with the cute Candace Clog. This will replace my daily Athens flip and new favorite foot-massaging Prepair II flip.

TaTa for now, leg-toning machines!

Hello animal frenzy Carlie Flat!

Then for work, as long as it is not snowing and I have time to paint at least my big toenail and second toenail, I can show off my animal prints with my Carlie Flat. This means saying TTFN to my glorious leg-toning Skylar Flip. *Sniff* See ‘ya on my feet in Florida in December, flip flops!

Now THIS is a birthday party

Ever been to a kid’s birthday party that makes you say, “Now THIS is a party…!” (Don’t miss this video of it!)Ted and I were lucky enough to attend one recently for our friend’s one-year-old. When we drove up the party-goers were treated to my face in the passenger window mouthing, “OH MY GOSH! THERE ARE PONIES!”

Of course Tanner slept through most of the fun which is a good thing. If he saw the details of this party he would be begging for ponies!

The petting zoo was pretty funny…the goats were happily eating the provided goat snacks from kids. And the pig was sucking up the leftovers. The ponies walked up and down the sidewalk with kids on their backs leaving nice piles behind, entertaining everyone! The ponies were leaving piles, not the kids…

To Wear White or to Not…

It is the age old question that rattles fashionistas annually. “Can I wear white after Labor Day?” Do YOU?

With the way fashion is these days, I have no problem wearing white pants in the winter….only when paired with a black top. But it seems…always right around Labor Day you are more quickly judged by others….”Oooh, trying to get the last few wearings out of your whites?”

Never out of style...a nice white flat!

My husband just announced he will be wearing a full white suit to a wedding the day before Labor Day. Huh? I didn’t even know he still HAD a full white linen suit. Now, if anyone will be commented on at the wedding, it will be Teddy! “Isn’t the BRIDE supposed to be the only one in white? Who is that guy?”

Here is to the arrival of Fall and all things brown, black and fashionable…see you once in a while, dear white pants….

Ohhh, yummy NEW Crocs "Cobbler" Boot!

Holla! VIP!

Since Teddy became addicted to Frisbee Golf aka “Frolf” he has gone through a couple pairs of his trusty Athens sandals.

This means we get to hit the Crocs Outlet in Aurora together! I don’t usually bring Teddy because I could easily spend an hour or two in that store trying on the new styles and chatting with the fun employees!

On this rainy weekend day, I thought I would test my “VIP” status. The outlet mall is a zoo on the weekends near back to school. I drove around and around looking for a spot. All we needed was one pair of Athens for Teddy. A quick stop! The rain became a downpour. AND we had baby Tanner with us. This is a topic for another day, but…how DO you transport an infant in a car seat or stroller in the rain?

I called the store and asked for the manager Scott. He yelled out, “HEY Kat! I saw you driving around the parking lot! How are you?” Being a realtor I have magnets on my car with my name on them…I am hard to miss. I told Scott we couldn’t find a single parking spot in the lot and had Tanner with us….and could we please park briefly at their back door, run in and run out? YES! Scott rocks. He even came out with an umbrella for us!

Scott and Hope....they rock!

To avoid being towed or placed on the Bad Boy List like Scott is on we scrambled to find Teddy’s size and headed out. Hope and the rest of the sales team were awesome as always….thanks for making me feel “VIP”!

Frisbee Golf is FREE!

My husband’s new obsession is Frisbee Golf. Have you played it? Or do you wonder what those crazy-looking metal baskets are in your local park? Do you “Frolf”?

Ted approaching the 8th "hole"

Ted and I love to be outside…A regular round of golf can take HOURS. 18 holes of Frisbee Golf can be done in under an hour.

I am able to come along with Tanner in tow and watch Ted and his pals play. They are really good and pretty competitive. The discs are something special…they are not regular frisbees. You CAN use a regular frisbee, but leave it to the fans of Frisbee Golf to create their own tools.

Teddy “blew out” his Athens flip flops at his last outing…that means I get to see Hope, Scott and the smiling crew at the Crocs Aurora Outlet store very soon!
