Retail Merchandise Planner
The merchandise planner executes planning and analysis across all locations within a designated region. Overall, is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through the development and execution of a retail specific assortment strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Partner with Buyer/Merchandiser to implement and manage buy plans for each location within the responsible region.
- Evaluate inventory levels by location to determine the appropriate levels and mix of product.
- Establish target quantities for each location within the region and allocate product to meet those needs.
- Perform monthly review of location selling versus plan and LY.
- Establish turn goals and inventory caps for locations with limited space.
- Build and maintain model stocks by location.
- Suggest assortment edits based upon performance metrics.
- Responsible for allocation merchandise and controlling store inventory levels.
- Identify and quantify opportunities and risks and recommend appropriate action.
- Analyze sales and profits by square foot and by category; execute to optimize product sales and profitability.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams (retail operations, marketing, planning).
- Be main point of contact for the designated region and perform other duties that come up such as shipping inquiries, managing product requests, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 year college degree
- At least 2 years experience as a merchandise planner
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Experience in Epicor or other retail merchandising systems a plus
- Experience in allocation, planning or buying as well as solid analytical, organizational and communication skills a must
